Abstract:
Using social network analysis in intelligence activities is a complex and
complete problem, as an analogy with the computational complexity theory suggests.
Complexity emerges as one connects a scientific approach with intelligence, the civil and
military realms, the national security strategy with a corresponding doctrine and a
training program for the personnel. Solving this problem one would find the key to other
complex problems, such as the development and deployment of early warning systems,
simulation and modeling systems, human terrain systems. The problem is complete and
solving it is a keen organizational learning process. When reached, the promise land of a
solution adds value to the intelligence organization, processes and products.
