Abstract
In a world of constant change and with an environment of transnational security
which varies depending on the fluctuations of international reality, intelligence undergoes
a series of mutations focused on new typology of vulnerabilities, risks and threats to
national, regional and international security. At the beginning of the millennium, the
stages of globalization leave a prominent mark on society, as well asaccelerated
developments of information technology and science, all these meant to facilitate the
transition from the industrial age to the informational era and then to the knowledge
society. In this context, asymmetric threats have diversified, both in number and intensity.
Developments in technology and the shift from industrial society to information society
facilitated dissemination means of these threats, intelligence being forced to adjust to the
new requirements of the security environment and to develop new ways and methods to
counter modern threats and risks.
